I just wanted to thank everyone who came out to workday today. I don't know how many folks we had, but I would guess 40 or so. It was a great turn out. Thanks to Mark B. and Pastor P. who planned it.
We truly worshiped the Lord with callouses. That has really come home to me in Christian service. For instance, what we did today - mulching, planting, cleaning, working, etc. was all done 100% for the Lord. I mean, none of us would have been doing any of that if it wasn't for the Lord. As we dug, painted, sweat, it was songs of praises saying "Lord we love you, Lord use this property, Lord save people here, Lord exalt yourself here, You are great and worthy of serving."
May the Lord exalt Himself in our services tomorrow, and may He allow us to live in the joy of Who He is!

Theological Dilemma
Greetings Lighthousers on a beautiful spring day!
Last night at Prayer Meeting, after singing a song about being Redeemed - I posed the question to the congregation: "Who/What were you bought back from (redeemed)?"
Some responded "sin, bondage, smoking (true), Satan, etc." -- but that is really not the right answer. Jesus did not pay any of those things His blood to rescue us.
The correct Theological Answer (in my view) is: Who were you bought back from? - God's Justice.
It is God's Justice that held you separated from Him and under His wrath --- He paid Himself in essence.
I would be happy to field disagreement or other perspectives on this through my email address at pastor@lbcde.org
If you are an out-of-towner in one of the many states that visit this site, feel free to comment. I will answer your views in a future "Pastor's heart blog".
The Lord bless and keep you --- Praise His holy name for REDEEMING US !
